Based at Aberdeen International Airport, City Star Airlines is a rapidly expanding executive airline. It was established by investors from Iceland and the UK. Its inaugural route to Oslo was launched in March 2005. Operating a fleet of three Dornier 328-110, it acquired a controlling share in the Icelandic domestic airline Landsflug in 2005.

The airline’s business model focuses on providing direct services between energy industry centres in Scotland and Norway. Business travellers are able to travel and put in a complete day’s work in Oslo or Aberdeen, returning home at the end of the day. Direct routes include: Aberdeen to Bergen, Kristiansand, Oslo, Stavanger and Alesund, as well as Stavanger to Kristiansand and Alesund. In Norway, the airline operates out of Oslo Gardermoen Airport, just a 30-minute rail journey from the centre of Oslo on the airport rail link. Leisure travellers will also find quicker connections from Oslo’s main airport to numerous destinations across Scandinavia.

City Star Airlines also recently opened its first ticket desk at Aberdeen International Airport, responding to higher passenger demand. The company also offers private and corporate charters to destinations across eastern and southern Europe and Scandinavia.

Passengers are requested to check in no later than 45 minutes before departure. Baggage allowance is 20kgs, with an additional 5kgs for hand luggage. City Star Airlines focuses on offering a business class service and a warm pre-flight and onboard service to its passengers. The smaller planes allow the cabin crew to focus more on each passenger’s individual needs.
